Bob qualified as an immunologist and
also has a degree in Communications. His career started as a research
biochemist in the Immunology Department for Unilever where his work
involved the application of the latest emerging biotechnology including
monoclonal antibodies and their translation into diagnostics. He then
moved into a broader pathology role with Abbott Diagnostics and JS
Pathology, before moving to management consulting where his experience
was used to assist with the rationalisation of pathology services
across London.
Diagnostics and pathology (laboratory testing) is the
leading edge of medicine, because the diagnosis has to be right. This
work required the bringing together of all healthcare professionals
from both primary and secondary care and recognised the absolute
necessity for a ‘team’ approach in the delivery of patient care.
Without rapid diagnostics and a unified approach, there is a danger
that patients can fall through the service gaps. It was from this
activity that Bob was able to launch London’s healthcare magazine
Capital Doctor.
inCapitalHealth now marks the natural extension to the
overall healthcare communication. Bob believes that the quality of any
publication relies on only one factor, namely, the quality of the
contributors. Bob’s extensive experience in working with London’s
Teaching Hospitals has given him the insight and contacts required to
brief and work with the leading authorities for any given therapeutic
area.
