Mr. Bhattacharyya was appointed as a consultant at Whipps Cross University Hospital in 1997 and is the Associate Director of Medical Education. He is the regional Otologist & Voice specialist for North East London & Essex. He works privately at Spire Roding Hospital and Holly House Hospital.
He is a founder faculty member on the Phonosurgery Course at the Institute of Laryngology and Otology. He has carried out a number of laryngeal framework and other phonosurgical procedures. He is also the regional otologist for tertiary referrals of complex otological conditions.
He qualified with distinction from Bombay in 1988 and completed his Masters in Surgery with the Best resident award in 1991. His subsequent higher surgical training has been at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, The Middlesex Hospital (UCL) and St George’s Hospital in London. He was awarded the Royal College Travelling Fellowship & TWJ Fellowship for Voice and Otological training.
He has published extensively and has edited two textbooks on Laryngology. He is actively involved in a number of surgical courses at Whipps Cross University Hospital.
